LAC, GUMS, RESINS AND OTHER VEGETABLE SAPS AND EXTRACTS
(Section Notes)

Main Notes

1 Heading 1302 applies, inter alia, to liquorice extract and extract of pyrethrum, extract of hops, extract of aloes and opium. The heading does not apply to: 

(a) liquorice extract containing more than 10% by weight of sucrose or put up as confectionery (heading 1704);

(b) malt extract (heading 1901); 

(c) extracts of coffee, tea or mate (heading 2101);

(d) vegetable saps or extracts constituting alcoholic beverages (Chapter 22);

(e) camphor, glycyrrhizin or other products of heading 2914 or 2938;

(f) concentrates of poppy straw containing not less than 50% by weight of alkaloids (heading 2939);

(g) medicaments of heading 3003 or 3004 or blood - grouping reagents (heading 3882);

(h) tanning or dyeing extracts (heading 3201 or 3203);

(i) essential oils, concretes, absolutes,resinoids, extracted oleoresins, aqueous distillates or aqueous solutions of essential oils or preparations based on odoriferous substances of a kind used for the manufacture of beverages (Chapter 33); or

(j) natural rubber, balata, gutta-percha, guayule, chicle or similar natural gums (heading 4001).

Policy Conditions

1 Export of Shellac and all forms of Lac is Free subject to the following:-

i) Registration with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. or Shellac & Forest Products Export Promotion Council; (ii) Production of quality certificate from Shellac & Forest Products Export Promotion Council.

2 Export of Guar Gum refined split and Guar Gum treated and pulverized is Free subject to the following:-

Guar gum exports to European Union (EU), originating in or consigned from India and intended for animal or human consumption, allowed subject to issue of Health Certificate by authorized representative of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India i.e. Shellac & Forest Products Export Promotion Council (SHEFEXIL) accompanied by the original analytical report of testing of Penta Chlorophenol (PCP) issued by any of the following agencies certifying that product does not contain more than 0.01 mg per Kg of PCP on sampling done by the authorized representative of the competent authority:

(i) Vimta Labs, Hyderabad ; and

(ii) Export Inspection Agency (EIA) Lab, Chennai

3 The export of Food Supplements containing botanicals to European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) originating in or consigned from India and intended for human or animal consumption, allowed subject to issuance of the official certificate issued by Export Inspection Council (EIC)/ Export Inspection Agencies (EIAs), the designated Competent Authority for issuance of official certificate. The official certificate will be issued based on the satisfactory analytical test report from EIC/EIC approved laboratories for the purpose as per the requirement laid down by EU.

The export of Food Supplements containing botanicals to European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) originating in or consigned from India and intended for human or animal consumption, also allowed, subject to issuance of the official Certificate by the designated EPC, SHEFEXIL, as Competent Authority for issuance of official certificate. The official certificate will be based on the satisfactory Analytical Test Report from NABL accredited laboratories for ETO testing for Food Supplements containing Botanicals approved for the purpose as per the requirement laid down by EU.

Main Notes

Export of quantities of wheat flour to Maldives shall be permitted through the PSUs indicated [Notification No. 12/2015-20 dated 27.06.2017]:

Policy Conditions

1 Export of Shellac and all forms of Lac is Free subject to the following:-
