                  Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Currency) (Amendment) Regulations, 2009

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (g) of sub-section (3) of Section 6 and Sub-section (2) of

Section 47 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999), the Reserve Bank of India hereby

makes the following amendments in the Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Currency)

Regulations, 2000 (Notification No. FEMA 6/2000-RB dated 3rd May, 2000), namely:-

1. Short Title and Commencement.-

(i) These regulations may be called as Foreign Exchange

Management (Export and Import of Currency) (Amendment) Regulations, 2009.

(ii) They shall come into effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment to the Regulations.-

In the Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of

Currency) Regulations, 2000 (Notification No. FEMA 6/2000-RB) dated May 3, 2000, in Regulation 3, in subregulation

(1),

(1) in clause (a), for the figures “Rs. 5000”, the figures and words “Rs. 7500 (Rupees seven thousand

five hundred only)” shall be substituted;

(2) in clause (c), for the figures “Rs. 5000”, the figures and words “Rs. 7500 (Rupees seven thousand five

hundred only)” shall be substituted;
