Ash generated in a 100% Export Oriented Unit - Exemption thereof - Regarding.- Attention is invited to Board’s letter of even number dated 6-4-1989 regarding exemption of slag under Notification No. 125/84-C.E., dated 26-5-1984.

The said exemption will hold good for the ash generated in a 100% Export Oriented Unit too if no payment is received by the party on such ash cleared to the domestic tariff area for dumping purposes.

The above instructions may be brought to the notice of the field formations.
